Ground School

Private Pilot Ground School -- Next class begins 3 May 2022

We will be offering a Private Pilot Ground School course, starting. The classes are held 6-9pm every Tuesday and Thursday nights, and continue for 13 weeks.

Even if you have not signed up for the course before the first day, are welcome to attend the first class for FREE. This first night will include an overview of the course, and what it takes to become a Private Pilot!

Learn all the required knowledge to pass the FAA Written Exam, a major step to earn your Private Pilot Certificate. This FAA Part 141 Approved ground training course follows the syllabus and training manual from Jeppesen, a leader in aviation training materials.

We do ask that you contact us before the first class, so that we have enough extra chairs placed in the room.

This class is a great way to get started with flight lessons. Ask your instructor for details.

 

The cost of the course is $325, and books will be $85 additional plus tax.

If you wish to start flying immediately and purchase the online Cessna Flight training kit with us while enrolling in the ground school class, we provide a $150 discount on the cost of the ground school.

Ask on the first day of class about any scholarships that may be available.

Quizzes will utilize the actual FAA test questions to get your familiar with the questions to pass the FAA written test!

The first day is FREE, and we discuss what it takes to get your certificate, so come out and ask questions!

Saturday Night Dinner and a Movie in the Hangar

Dinner is available for an additional charge upstairs in the Airpark Cafe 5:30pm to 7pm. Order off the menu! Beer and Wine available!

Classes and Meetings

Meet with Ken, the new Tower Chief, at Redding MUNI. Jim O will lead the refresher discussion on Class D Ground and Air basic operations to include Class D airspace review, Taxiway and Runway Markings/Signage /Lighting, Ground Ops, Weather, Frequencies to use, weather requirements for Class D VFR and Special VFR, Tower Communications with you, and more.

Ken will be talking about unique operations to RDD (Fire Bombers, Skywest Reginal Jet ops, and Marmots, as well as any "asking for a friend" questions you may have on RDD Class D operations. SIgn up on FAASAFETY.GOV for WINGS credit. Seminar is FREE, and starts at 10am. Complimentary Coffee courtesy of the Airpark Cafe, and Donuts courtesy of EAA Chapter 157. Breakfast starts at 7am if you are hungry before or after the seminar!
